Bagels|Schmeres|Lox|: January 23rd – 6pm 

Join Chef Chelsea Bruce, owner of North Fork Chai Co., for a hands-on class where you’ll learn to make old-fashioned boiled and baked bagels from scratch, topped with a variety of delicious toppings, creamy schemers, and homemade lox. You’ll master every step of the bagel-making process—from mixing the dough to boiling and baking—ensuring you achieve that perfect chewy texture.

We’ll also guide you in creating a selection of flavorful schemers, like classic cream cheese, smoked salmon spread, and more, to complement your bagels. Plus, you’ll learn how to prepare your own lox, giving you a complete, authentic deli experience. Whether you're a bagel lover or new to baking, this class will equip you with the skills to make bagels, spreads, and lox from scratch—perfect for any brunch or special occasion.

All classes start at immediately at 6:00.pm.

Class maximum occupancy is 6-8 students.

Pre-registration is required.

Class fees are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend a class, please let us know 24 hours ahead and we can transfer you into another class. Classes with fewer than 4 enrolled will be cancelled. If this happens we will call you by phone/email the day before. You will have the choice of transferring to another class or receiving a full refund.

All evenings include recipes, training, shopping for ingredients and menu planning. Please plan to arrive on time.

We recommend comfortable clothes and bring your own apron. Closed toed shoes are required to be in the kitchen.

If you have a group if 4-6 people you are more than welcome to register. However, given the limited space and popularity of our classes we may not always have the space available. Book early or contact us for your own private class.

Unless noted in the class description kids 14-17 are welcomed to attend a class held at NFCC with an adult 18 years or older. Two seats will need to be purchased to do so. We will also require a waiver to be signed by guardian and kid(s) attending the class. Please email us when you have signed up with a kid so we can have the waiver ready.
